Outdoor smoking shelters are a very common sight with American businesses due to indoor smoking restrictions. Because of these restrictions, most companies and businesses offer an outdoor setting or shelter for their employees due to avoid Mother's Natures elements. Most companies do not want to spend a great deal of money on these outdoor shelters due to a "permanent" structure typically requiring permits and approvals which can take some time.

Recommended tent type for smoking shelters
There are several different types of tents that can be utilized depending on the customer smoking shelter application. West Coast style frame tents are typically utilized in smaller spaces where the mounting surface is concrete or asphalt and the mounting surface cannot be used to anchor the tent. West Coast style frame tents are freestanding which means they are remain upright and erected without the use of anchors. They are relatively simple to construct with 2 – 3 adults and can be taken down easily.
Another option for a smoking shelter setting is a pole tension tent. These tents are commonly used in larger social gathering venues where the anchoring surface is dirt based. They are also less time consuming to erect than a West Coast style frame tent of the same size. Pole tents are not freestanding which means they require anchoring to remain upright and erect. Pole tension tents are less costly than frame tents due to less frame components.
Dremcor tent top details
Dremcor pole tent and frame tent top covers are manufactured of top quality PVC coated polyester which is "heat sealed" at the seams for waterproof protection. Available cover specifications include a 16 ounce per square yard PVC blockout white and a 14 ounce / square yard PVC translucent white depending on the size of the smoking area. Tent top main covers typically have scalloped valances for a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. Dremcor tent top covers also have a sidewall hanging rope which is permanently fixed to the cover to allow for the sidewalls / enclosures to be attached for a completely enclosed unit. The enclosures are very advantageous in less than pleasant weather conditions
Anchoring and securing your tent
As previously noted, Dremcor smoking and break area tents are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions if the manufacturer recommended installation instructions are properly followed. Each structure includes a detailed instruction manual on how to anchor and secure the tent in your business location to prevent injuries and property damage. Each tent type has a unique anchoring arrangement as noted in the instruction manual. When securing the tent to a dirt base, long steel stakes are utilized to maintain a tight holding force.
Enclosure options for challenging weather
Regardless of the tent type, each shelter has optional enclosures and sidewalls to provide employees and guests with more comfortable conditions in undesirable weather. The side walls and panels can easily be rolled up to allow for ventilation and open environment in more pleasant weather conditions. Windows are also available as an option for increased light entry.
